Gabby Nelson has used her background of more than eight years in communications to help leading companies effectively educate consumers about health topics in order to positively influence behaviors.
As such, Nelson’s role at Select Comfort includes helping raise awareness about the importance of healthy sleep and the role the sleep surface plays in consistently getting a good night’s sleep.
Prior to joining Select Comfort, Nelson worked for such clients as the North American Olive Oil Association, DuPont Nutrition & Health and the Soyfoods Council, helping educate consumers about the health benefits of olive oil and soyfoods.
Nelson began her career working with United Health Foundation to publish America’s Health Rankings – a comprehensive, yearly analysis of the relative healthiness of the American population based on traditional and non-traditional measures. Nelson’s campaign lead to more than half a million downloads of the comprehensive report by elected officials, public health professionals, educators and interested citizens.
Determined to “walk the walk,” Nelson has spent the last five years committed to improving her own health. Several years ago, she lost more than 25 pounds by modifying her diet and beginning an exercise routine. Today, Nelson walks on her treadmill several times a week and takes yoga classes. And most nights, Nelson is sleeping soundly in her Sleep Number 7000 bed by 9:30 p.m.
Nelson shares her Sleep Number bed with her dog, Freckles. Freckles’ Sleep Number setting is a soft 10.
