Jim’s Select Comfort Customer Service Stories

In my job here at Select Comfort, one of the things that reminds me I’m working for the right company (besides my fun co-workers) is that among the usual customer-service type emails: “When is my bed coming?”, “Did I order Eastern King or California King?”, I often get great Sleep Number bed reviews from customers. Some from folks with specific physical needs that our beds have helped, others who love the fact that they don’t have to compromise anymore, others who will jokingly (or maybe not so jokingly?) tell us we’ve saved their marriage!

Over the past week a couple of these reviews stood out to me, like this one from Nicole in Edison, New Jersey: “It’s been two years since I purchased the sleep number bed. It is AMAZING!!! It was worth every penny I spent. Since the birth of my second child almost four years ago I suffered from extreme lower back pain. I had to beg my husband to buy this bed. He was insistant no bed was going to solve my back pain. I can’t tell you how much he loves our bed two years later. All my back pain was gone within a week! We both sleep better, we sleep longer, and never wake up from being uncomfortable. This bed is truly wonderful! It has changed our lives. Thank you to everyone who had a part in designing this bed! My husband and I both say we can’t live without this bed! Thank you again!”

Pregnancy, lower back pain, and proving the husband wrong: I call that the customer service trifecta!

And there’s this one from Amy in Alabama: “I have multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and myeofacial pain syndrome. The bed has been amazing for me because my muscles harden and do not release. Also, my husband had an accident and broke his ankle with a compound fracture and was in the bed for 3 years and having 11 surgeries before having his foot amputated. If we hadn’t had this bed we would be in terrible shape. We tell all our friends they need to try the bed because it has saved our lives.”

Those of you who’ve read my posts before you know that I like my bed–A LOT. For me it’s a nice place to sleep. For so many others, it’s an even bigger part of their lives and plays a huge role in how they live with various ailments. Makes me proud to work for Select Comfort and to have the chance to help improve people’s lives through better sleep.
