Last year I took the leap and bought my first home. I’d always been content as a renter and had a good relationship with my landlord. But, so many things came together that I just couldn’t ignore the signs that this was my time to buy a house. The search took a little longer than I expected so by the time I closed, I was pretty stressed. I closed in the middle of the month, to give myself a full two weeks to move. You see, I’m a record collector, and moving them is a chore.
Two days before I had to be out of my rental apartment, I’d managed to have just about everything out of my apartment by making a couple trips after work each night in my trusty hatchback. On D-Day, we were pretty much down to just beds and furniture and electronics.
As I watched my roommate struggle getting his mattress and boxspring through doors, around corners, and up and down stairs, it occurred to me how easy the Sleep Number bed is to move. Having moved it three times now, I can break it down in about 20 minutes and set it back up in about the same time. For people who move a lot, the Sleep Number bed is great! It can be disassembled and boxed for moving. It goes up stairs and around corners super-easy. If you don’t believe me, check out this assembly video showing someone moving it up a spiral staircase. Imagine trying to drag a mattress and box spring up there! My Queen Sleep Number p5 mattress traveled to the new house in my little hatchback. There’s no way an innerspring mattress and box spring would ever have fit in my little hatchback.
Even with all the time I had to move, that last day was still a long one, (when you think you’re 90% moved, you’re really only 75% moved …). But, the first night in my new home, I slept like a rock, thankful that my Sleep Number mattress had made the trip with me.
