News headlines are constantly reminding us of high fuel prices, poor economic conditions and my least favorite, increased stress due to exhibits A and B. My colleagues at Select Comfort and I can’t help but wonder, what is going on? It’s summer, a time in my most recent memory as the season to vacate stress and have some fun. Last week I took the time to do just that. Instead of traveling to a different city or driving up to the cabin, I took a Staycation.
For folks that are budget conscious, strapped for vacation time or want to avoid the stress of traveling (last week’s delayed flights on the East coast ring a bell for anyone?), staying right where you are can be a quick and great remedy to lifting your spirits.
During my time off I spent most of it sleeping. Apparently I was running so fast both my mind and body were begging me to just give it a rest, literally. It’s difficult for me to admit because I try to stick to a sleep regime (courtesy of our in-house sleep guru, Pete Bils). Sleep was the best thing for me. During the five-day Staycation, I was a coach potato, beach bum, reading addict and my most favorite, Sleep Number bed Queen! My decision to take a break and stay home resulted in feeling well-rested, happier and more productive.
So, when you think you’ve hit a wall or need to vacate for a short time, do it! Take a Staycation, in-home holiday, personal retreat or house arrest, whatever you want to call it. Just remember to do what’s within your control to make things better and may be even a little easier for you.
While you are at it, why not enter to win a NEW Sleep Number bed? As you know, we kicked-off the Sleep Number Sleep-In Challenge back in June and it’s not too late to get started! (If I wasn’t an employee of the company, I’d win, hands down.) I dare you to take the challenge and experience the personal benefit of fabulous sleep. But hurry, the contest ends August 1!
Sleep well,
LeeAnn

Beware of poor quality of beds:
I had practically ever component replaced within the last 3 years. I bought it almost 3 years ago and the pump went within 2 weeks of setting up the bed. then the remote went. Then now after 2 years and the warranty expiration I had a leak in the quadrant so I have to pay 50 for replacement. I am so disappointed in the workmanship with the beds they are putting out these days that I nor will I ever recommend another bed from them again. I had a bed for 10 years I bought from them and it is fine. I feel like I have a lemon and they will not replace it and refund it.
Hello! My name is Jeff and I work with Select Comfort’s customer service team. I’m sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your Sleep Number bed. I can assure you that your experience is extremely atypical. We create our beds using materials of the highest quality and have a very low failure rate. As you have seen with your original bed, our customers usually do not experience a breaking down of the components. I wonder if it is possible that some sort of power spike or other issue related to the pump issues you’ve experienced.
The air chamber having a leak could result from something causing a puncture in the air chamber, or other variable that compromised the integrity of the chamber. Without knowing the situation I can only speculate as to the cause. I do believe, however, that general wear and tear would not be responsible for the issues. The good news is that we have a 20 year warranty in place to resolve any problems you may have with your bed related to manufacturing defects.
Our goal is to provide you with the best, most restful sleep possible and we will continue to work with you to achieve that goal. Please do not hesitate to contact customer service at 1-800-472-7185 if you need any further assistance.
