“We purchased a sleep number model 5000 in July 2008 and are very pleased with our decision. My husband was experiencing hip and shoulder pain and would adjust his sleep position constantly throughout the night on our previous mattress. Since he has back problems and sleeps with a pillow between his legs the constant turning from side to side was even more problematic. On the sleep number bed his shoulder and hip pain has been reduced and he is not constantly having to realign his sleep position. I did not think I had any problems sleeping, in fact I liked the previous mattress, but I am now a convert. I recently had to sleep on the “old” mattress (it’s now in the guest room) and I wonder why I thought it was once comfortable. We opted for a single wireless remote and that has not been a problem since once we found our sleep number we rarely adjust the bed. We assembled the bed in about 1 hr.
