#SleepNumber Sleep Better Chat: Questions—and answers—about memory foam

Memory foam. It’s one of the most popular sleep innovations in the last 50 years. But, it’s also one of the areas and topics that people have the most questions about when shopping for a memory foam mattress. What is memory foam? Why would I buy a memory foam mattress vs. a traditional mattress? What are the benefits of memory foam? Does memory foam differ between manufacturers?

As we saw on our Facebook wall last week, people have a lot of questions about memory foam. So, we’re openly discussing and answering memory foam questions during our upcoming Twitter/Facebook Sleep Better Chat on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 2-3 p.m. CT.

During this chat, we’ll talk about all things memory foam. So, bring your questions next Thursday and @SleepGeekPete and I (@SleepNumberSara) will do our best to help answer them.

As with all our Sleep Better Chats, we’re giving away Sleep Number merchandise. This time we’re very excited to give one lucky chatter a Queen Sleep Number m7 memory foam bed set, with standard UPS shipping—this new bed officially launches January 17. It’s memory foam “redefined” J.

Thank you for the answers. I’m really having a hard time deciding if memory foam is a wise buy.

Is memory foam mattress suitable for people with back pain?

I bought a Tempurpedic and I’m looking at buying a new mattress now my husband has made a body sized sink hole in his side. He flipped it around and I was sleeping on the bottom of the bed! It says it has a lifetime warranty but Tempurpedic says I have to have the original receipt and it was on thermal paper! So it didn’t store well in my attic so 5k for a bed and I need a new one two years later? So disappointed all around with the bed, the company, and the customer service.
